Company Commander Capt. Christopher Vanderburg also awarded center personnel for their support in assisting the Army in meeting its ongoing mission of enlisting and training new soldiers. The group indicated that Loring has by far one of the highest number of students that have gone on to join the Army and that is accredited to the dedication and motivation of the center staff.

“You can see the teamwork and commitment to each and every student,” said SSgt. Austin Wing, “and that is one of the fundamental reasons this center produces such positive results.”
The visiting team presented awards to: Center Director Kristie Moir for the center’s 20 years of mission support to the Army; to records manager Kate Easler for providing quality mission support for 2016; and to the Loring Honor Guard and instructor Carl Smith for developing the foundation and training of the center’s future soldiers.
During their visit, the company leaders and local recruiters met with the center’s counseling, management and placement staff, and presented an updated overview of options and benefits the Army offers students at Loring.
The group also outlined the requirements for entering the Army and explained some of the many hurdles young people face today in enlisting in the military.
