Ermatrude S. Andrews, passed away on Saturday, Sept.10 in Auburn. She was born on March 12, 1929 to Thomas and Theresa (Pierce) Snow in Caribou where she was raised. She graduated from Caribou High School in 1946, during high school she worked as an administrative assistant for the Bird’s Eye plant, she also worked in secretarial positions for the Caribou and Limestone School District as well as for the Town of Caribou as an administrative assistant.
She then began her banking career in Dixfield, at Maine National Bank then to MidMaine Savings Bank in Auburn. She was the Branch Manager at the Mechanic Falls branch for MidMaine Savings Bank from which she retired. During her retirement years she worked for TD Bank in back office operations until her full retirement at the age of 80.
She is survived by her two sisters, Helen Raymond and Pauline Doolittle of Portland; daughter, Melanie Brow of South Carolina; two sons, Philip Andrews and his partner Debbie Paiment of Casco, Timothy Andrews of Casco; four grandsons, Christian Averill, Frederick Culver of Lebanon, Jay Andrews of California, Robert Andrews of California; three granddaughters, Jill Averill, Bethany Kubik of Lebanon, Jenna Andrews of Casco, and nine great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Frederick H. Andrews, her parents; two brothers, Paris J. Snow and T. Reginald Snow; sister-in-law Willette Snow, two brother-in-laws, Alfred Raymond and James Doolittle; two sons, Michael Andrews and Todd Andrews.
Friends and Family called upon the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Services were held Friday September 16, at 10 a.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 26 W. Dwinal St. Mechanic Falls. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lions Club Eye Glass Program. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Caribou.
