HOULTON, Maine — Sixth-grader Annalise Jandreau of Caribou captured the individual title in the Aroostook League championships for middle school cross country, held last Wednesday afternoon.
Jandreau, who was celebrating a birthday, raced to a winning time of 14:40.8 on the two-mile course, 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Jeremy Stone of Greater Houlton Christian Academy won the title in the boys’ race with a 13:13.5 clocking. Forty-five boys and 60 girls competed.
The Caribou girls finished a distant second to host GHCA in the team results, while the GHCA boys came in first and Washburn was the runner-up.
