Players offer musical trip

     PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Community Players and the University of Maine at Presque Isle will present a musical revue of “Those Oldies But Goodies” on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 and 15 and Oct. 21 and 22, at the Auditorium at Wieden Hall on the UMPI campus.

    All shows will start at 7 p.m.; doors will open at 6:30.

     “Those Oldies But Goodies” tickets are $10 and are available at the Aroostook Centre Mall’s information booth, at Goin’ Postal on 26 North Street in Presque Isle, the UMPI Campus Store and at the door each night of the performance. Proceeds will benefit the Wieden Auditorium renovation project.

     The show is directed by Northern Star’s Claudia Stevens and Players veteran director Jim Derosier. Songs will include “Rock Around The Clock,” “One Fine Day,” “Earth Angel,” “Sincerely,” “Johnny Angel” and “It’s My Party,” just to name a few. Vocalists include veteran Players Jim and Twink Derosier, Debbie Lamont, Elaine Moody, Sherry Sullivan, Jacob Graham, Kate Moody, Lauren Kennison, Morgan Swan and Claudia Stevens, as well as newcomers Anna Scheduler, Erik Gustin, Allyson Plummer and Frank Marminic.

     Vocalists will be accompanied by pianist Kimberly Kiehn, Pat Bragdon and Kevin Bushey.
