Kim Wilcox of Mapleton was awarded the 2016 Reuben and Annette Cote Family Memorial Scholarship of $750 from the Jefferson Cary Foundation. At the presentation are, from left, Pam Scheppele, Jefferson Cary Foundation president, and Mary Harrigan, executive director; Wilcox; and Shanin Cote, Cary occupational therapist and granddaughter of Reuben and Annette Cote. The Cote family established the scholarship in the mid-1980s after being impressed by the care Annette received. The award is offered annually to a Cary employee furthering their nursing education. A former radiologic technologist and patient navigator, Wilcox is studying nursing at Northern Maine Community College and plans to join the family nurse practitioner program at Husson University, specializing in geriatrics and pharmacology. |
