She was a lifelong member of The Caribou Assembly of God Church accepting the Lord as her Savior June 24, 1945, and was baptized in water July 22, 1945. Through her service to the Lord she nourished those around her with love, faith and prayers. Many of Juanita’s friends were members of the church including one of her dearest friends Catherine Beesley the wife of former pastor Harold Beesley.
After Sterling’s passing in 1992, Juanita made numerous trips to Florida to visit family. Among her travels she enjoyed the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky with one of her favorite nieces, Anna Rae. Along the way she and Anna Rae met traveling companions Doris Sherman and Phyllis Clewley and had many adventures.
Juanita’s love of books filled her life and she passed many of them back and forth with family members. Juanita’s children remember fondly the years of potato picking and the wonderful handmade goodies including sandwiches made with homemade bread and the special whoopie pies lovingly wrapped in waxed paper.
