CHS fall athletes earn awards

 

     CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou High School held its fall sports awards night Nov. 7, with soccer players, golfers and cross country runners all honored for their participation.

     Athletes named most valuable players in their respective sports were: Connor Plourde, varsity golf; Andre Rossignol, boys varsity soccer; Hope Shea, girls varsity soccer; Evan Desmond, boys varsity cross country; Calvin Mokler, boys JV cross country; Ashley Violette, girls varsity cross country; Danielle Cyr, girls JV cross country; Jacob Berkoski, boys JV soccer; and Emma Hixon, girls JV soccer.

    Two athletes earned letter sweaters for either accumulating three varsity letters in two different sports or a total of seven varsity letters. The recipients were Searra Herbert, Emma Belyea and Shea.

Coach Andrew Kirby presented letters to the following members of the girls JV soccer team: Abbi Allen, Alexis Parker, Elsie Patton, Victoria Leavitt, Paige Espling, Olivia Picard, Kimmy Susi, Erin Jandreau, Emma Hixon, Jasmine Olson, Madison Stratton, Riley McNeal, Renee Stubbs, Taylor Skidgel, Alya Theriault, Taylor Devoe, Hollie McDougal, MacKenna Smith and managers Riley Cavagnaro, Abbi Robbins and Brittany Brissette.

     Coach Todd Albert presented awards to the following members of the girls varsity soccer team: letters: manager Jessica Limary, Rachel Soucy, Emiy Adler, Abbie Caron and Kaytlin Waldermarson; plaques: Monica McLaughlin, Amber Moir, Willow Whitten, Alexis Rodriguez, Meagan Dube, Jo Jo Fields, Zoe Gerakaris and Jaelynn Doody; trophies: Danielle Hanson, Searra Herbert, Gabrielle Marquis, Hope Shea, Ashley Matlock, Kendra Furber and Kerrigan Manter; and jackets: Maddie Doucette and Megan Thornton.

     Coach Marc Weeks presented awards to the following members of the varsity golf team: letter: Branden Masse; plaques: Gabe Rand, Bailey Griffeth, Noah Rosado and Stewart Curtis; and trophy: Connor Plourde.

     Coach Brandon Caverhill presented letters to the following members of the boys JV soccer team: Jacob Bolen, Ben Levesque, Hayden Hunter, Alexander Hyde, Wyatt Joyner, Chris Parent, Brandon Jalbert, Theodore Strid, Wyatt Taggett, Jay Belanger, Jacob Berkoski, Jacob Paul and Ghent Durepo.

     Coaches Scott Hunter and Kyle Corrigan presented awards to the following members of the boys varsity soccer team: certificates: Jacob Berkoski, Theodore Strid, Alexander Hyde and Cameron Doody; letters: Tiernan Barbosa, Hayden Hunter, Parker Deprey, Alex Bouchard, Cullin Caverhill, Liam McMillon, Zach Gerakaris, Caleb Trombley, Noah Hixon, Carter Moir and manager Brooke DeMerchant; and plaques: Andre Rossignol, Brandon Manter, Nic Sleeper, Austin Cheplic, Alex Ezzy and Austin Findlen.

     Coach Thomas Beckum presented awards to the following members of the girls cross country team: JV letters: Heather DeMerchant, Emma Stewart, Danielle Cyr, Erin Kashian, Sam Fortin, Ciara Richards, Olivia Austin, Mariah Mink, Rachel Ring, Maren Moir and Katie Clark; varsity letters: Katrina Salch and Ashley Violette; plaques: Simone Michaud, Sarae Greenier, and Emily Austin; trophy: Madeline Gudde; and jacket: Emma Belyea.
