CARIBOU — Michael A. Martin, 60, passed away November 20, 2016 at Bangor. He was born in Caribou, December 19, 1955, the son of Lawrence and Thelma (Levesque) Martin.

He was a 1974 graduate of Caribou High School and then received his associate’s degree in mechanics from Eastern Maine Technical College. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Michael was employed at Bennett’s Texaco for several years, then spent a number of years in Florida, where he was employed as the head mechanic/boiler operator aboard a salvage ship, traveling the world. He then returned to Limerick, Maine where he owned and operated Jonathan Michaels Restaurant prior to his early retirement due to declining health.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Caribou, are his son, Jonathan Michael Martin of Bangor, his brother, Robert Martin of Palmyra, New York, his sister, and brother -in-law, Mary and Mark Richmond of London-derry, N.H; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was predeceased by his father, Larry in 1982, his sister Betty in 1980 and his brother, Richard in 2011.
Friends visited with the family 6-8 p.m. Monday. Memorial services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with V. Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, officiating.
