All-Star banquet honors Soccer players

BANGOR, Maine — The 43rd Maine Soccer Coaches All-Star Banquet was held Sunday at the Spectacular Events Center, with All-State teams announced in addition to All New-England, All-America and Coach of the Year honorees.

Making the girls’ Northern Maine State Team was Caribou forward Maddie Doucette, along with four fellow Aroostook County players — forward Madison Michaud of Presque Isle, forward Mackenzie Carter of Ashland, midfielder Kolleen Bouchard of Houlton and fullback Aspen Flewelling of Houlton.

Peter Belskis of Ashland was named as a nominee for girls’ NSCAA Region I Coach of the Year in the small school category. Belskis led the Hornets to the Class D state championship this fall.

Earning a berth on the boys’ Northern Maine State Team were forward Andre Rossignol of Caribou and midfielder Ryan Player of Fort Fairfield, along with Presque Isle fullback Nick Bartlett.

All these players were also recognized for making the regional all-star team, as were Tori Koch of Presque Isle, Searra Herbert of Caribou; Megan Cote, Morgan Doughty and Cassidy Pelletier, all of Ashland; and Jadeyn Giberson and Kate Levesque, both of Central Aroostook. For boys, regional all-stars also included Kyle Beaulier of Ashland, Alex Ezzy of Caribou, Jacob Flewelling of Easton and Jonah Daigle, Chris Giberson and Colin Goshorn, all of Fort Fairfield.

Two other players with Caribou ties gained special honors. Camden Hills’ senior Josiah Krul was named All-State as well as being one of four All-New England choices from the state. His younger sister, sophomore Kassie, also garnered All-State recognition as a member of the state champion Camden Hills’ girls team. The Kruls grew up in Caribou, moving to Rockport in 2013. Their parents are Robbie and Tammy Krul.
