HOULTON, Maine — The men and women from many local churches who planned this year’s local World Day of Prayer Service cordially extend a warm welcome to all to come and worship, and learn about women in the Philippines who prepared the 2017 service, which will be celebrated all over the world in more than 170 countries on Friday, March 3.
The local service will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 112 Military St. in Houlton at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
This year’s service is highlighted by local participants of Philippine ancestry, who will add authenticity and connectedness to the Philippines. Refreshments will be served at 10 a.m. in the Parish Center, with the service following at 10:30.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be held the following week on Fri. March 10.
