Husson senior guard Chandler Guerrette has been selected as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while teammate Mackenzie Worcester, a sophomore guard, joined Guerrette on the All-Conference first team.

Guerrette is a 2013 graduate of Presque Isle High School and helped the Wildcats to two Class B state championships. Worcester graduated in 2015 from Washburn District High School and her Beavers captured four Class D state titles during her career.

Guerrette was a solid presence for the Eagles throughout her senior campaign. Last year’s Defensive Player of the Year and the 2014 Rookie of the Year finished the conference regular season ranked in the top-10 in 11 different statistical categories, including leading the league in steals (65) and steals per game (3.6). Against NAC opponents, she averaged 13.5 points per game, while shooting 42.9 percent (85-of-198) from the floor and 73.3 percent (44-of-60) from the foul line.

Guerrette also netted 29 three-pointers, dished 62 assists (3.4 per game), pulled down 85 rebounds (4.7 per game) and managed to earn four blocks in conference action. Earlier this season, she earned a spot in Husson program history as she surpassed 1,000 points. Nationally, she ranks among the top 40 in all of Div. III with her 85 steals (19th), 3.54 steals per game (17th), and 1.96 assist turnover ratio (39th).

The senior claimed two NAC Athlete of the Week honors, one ECAC New England Player of the Week award and was named to NEWBA honor roll once this season.

Worcester, a sophomore guard, was another standout player for the Eagles, earning a spot on the NEWBA Honor Roll three times and MWBCA Honor Roll twice this year. Starting every game, the guard led her team in points with 369 and averaged 15.4 per game. She also showed the most accuracy from the foul line, draining 83.1 percent (69-of-83) of her shots. Worcester gathered up 113 rebounds, 48 steals and 85 assists on the year going into playoffs.

Others on the first team were Amanda Beatty of Castleton State, Alayne Felix of Maine Maritime Academy and Mikayla Hodge of Lyndon State. Husson’s Kissy Walker was named Coach of the Year.
