Congratulations to Easton basketball shooters for placing at the Northern Maine Recreation Association and Maine Recreation and Parks/Red Claws Northern Maine Hot Shots Regional Competition, which was held in Caribou on March 9.
Camden Michaud placed first in the 13-15-year-old boys division. Jenna Cochran took first place in the girls 11-12-year-old contest, earning the title of state champion. Eva Callioras was named the state runner-up in the 13-15-year-old girls competition.
Others from Easton who qualified for the contest were Grace Ellis, Laynie Brewer, Jazmyn Brown, Kayleigh Coy, Grace Flewelling, Lydia Ferris, Cecilia Morin, Kassidi Hanson, Owen Sweeney, Chase Flewelling, Blake King, Cade Ennis, Rylee Chasse, Evan Carver, Mitchell Flewelling and Austin Carver.
Community Library
On Saturdays the Community Library will be held at the Easton High School Library and will feature a story time from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., geared for toddlers/pre-K to grade 3; children under 5 need to be accompanied by an adult. The story time will include a picture book with an activity/color page to follow.
The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.
This week’s dates include Wednesday, March 22, at the elementary school and Saturday, March 25, at the high school.
Happy Days Update
The Happy Days Club met following a potluck lunch on March 9 with members Annette Copeland, Betty Brown, Julia Allen, Carrie Mason, Paul and Liana DeMerchant.
The next meeting will be at 1130am on Thursday, March 23, in the recreation room at the Manor. Please bring sandwiches, chips or soda to share for a potluck lunch.
All seniors are welcome to come and bring a friend.
