PORTLAND, Maine — Charter Communications Inc. announced on March 14 the launch of Spectrum in the company’s Maine service area.
Spectrum replaces Time Warner Cable.
“At Charter, we are working hard to redefine what a cable company can be and we call it Spectrum,” said Tom Rutledge, Charter chairman and CEO. “It starts by providing the best TV, internet and voice services possible at the greatest value to our customers, combined with a service organization that is large enough, expertly trained and well-equipped to provide the highest level of craftsmanship and service.”
The new company will offer home wi-fi and internet as well as television and telephone plans.
According to Rutledge, Spectrum is investing in its network and innovation, transitioning remaining analog Time Warner Cable systems to all-digital networks, enabling customers to take full advantage of an advanced, two-way, interactive
fiber-rich network.
Spectrum is also investing in service and bringing back jobs from overseas call centers, Rutledge said. This means insourcing its workforce and adding more jobs to serve the customer better. Overall, Spectrum plans to add 20,000 jobs, the majority of whom will serve customers directly.
