A large tree falling on a power line caused a disruption in the transmission of electricity across the Canadian border, leaving 12,151 customers in Aroostook without power on Jan. 26, according to Versant Power.

The Van Buren Crusader girls basketball team wasn’t able to meet in-person until Jan. 4 of this year, several weeks later than the normal time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
