Organizers decided to revive a legendary town auction to raise funds for the treasured 1845 Regular Baptist Church, now known as the Patten Cultural Center.
The event is slated for Monday Aug. 5 through Sunday Aug. 11 with events scheduled around the area.
The ordinance states the structure is considered a permanently constructed living space not to exceed 400 square feet and can be placed on an individual house lot or as an accessory building.
The closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. begin on Monday for paving work and should last three days.
