New manager chosen — Caribou citizens generally are glad to learn that Chas. B. Margesson has been chosen  as manager of the P. of H. opera house. No better selection could have been made, as Mr. Margesson is thoroughly posted on all matters historic and takes a deep interest in the work.

Ending one job to start another — Robt. McLellan, mail carrier on route number one, has resigned his position, and, it is understood, will enter into business with L.J. Sherwood. Mr McLellan has many friends on his route who will be sorry to hear of his resignation.

The verdict is in — The county commissioners made known their verdict Saturday in regard to the prayer of the Independent Telephone Company to set poles, string wires and do a general telephone business in the town of Caribou.

Meeting of publishers — A meeting of the publishers of the different papers in the county met at the Star Herald office in Presque Isle Monday and organized the Aroostook Publishers Association. G.H. Collins of the Star-Herald was chosen president and L.J. Pendell of the Republican, secretary.

100 Years Ago – Nov.  18, 1920
  Unique recital given at high school auditorium pleases a large audience – – The recital given last Thursday Evening under the direction of the Astle Music Co. by a group of Edison Artists drew one of the largest audiences ever seen in the building.

100 Years Ago – Nov. 10, 1920
     Honored — A special service was given in honor of the Boy Scout troop of the church. The service was in commemoration of a heroic deed at Grand Lake. Last summer while the Boy Scouts were camping, Harry Manuel rescued the life of a drowning man.

     Eight week auto trip — Fritz G. Russell, who for a time was employed at Osgood’s Jewelry store, left in August for California accompanied by Mrs. Russell, making the trip by auto.

     Making good at radio school — Fred Biethen, a graduate of Houlton High School’s Class of 1920, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Biethen, who is now attending the Boston Radio School, is making good in his chosen profession.
