     59th Annual meeting — Every weekly paper in Aroostook County was represented at the 59th annual meeting of the Maine Press Assn. held in Bangor at which time Chas. H. Fogg was reelected president for the ensuing year.

     Moving on — Carl C. Gray, who for a number of years has been prescription clerk at the Hatheway Drug Co., has resigned and accepted a fine position with the Sturtevant Manufacturing Co. of Boston, planning to take up his new duties early in September.

     New proprietor — The final papers in the sale of Crescent Park by Fred E. Stephenson to Geo. A. Russell took place on Monday and Mr. Russell has already taken over the proprietorship.

     New lighting system — Manager Belyea, the new owner of Lakewood, the popular resort on Nickerson Lake, has recently purchased a Westinghouse Lighting System, and is having it installed.

     Returned to Houlton — John Chapman, who formerly worked for the Putnam Hardware Co., in the accounting department, leaving there to enter the U. S. service, has returned to Houlton and has entered the employ of B. S. Green as a salesman.

100 Years Ago – July 21, 1920
     Training — Robert Yetton, whose compensation for vocational training has been approved, has started in on his work having chosen telephone work as his line. New switch boards are being installed in parts of the county and he is out learning, while experienced men are teaching him the ins and outs of this work.

     Leased a room — Mr. Bugbee who conducts a restaurant in the Thibadeau Block has leased the connecting room in rear of his present location and will open it up in connection with his lunch counter and will use the new part for ladies.

     New prices — Beginning July 5 the motion picture houses advanced their admission prices, being the last line of business throughout the country to raise their prices to meet the advancing costs of everything that goes into the making of a Motion picture.
