100 Years Ago – Jan. 7, 1920
New quarters — B.E. Anderson, who has been conducting a retail shoe business as well as a repairing department, has leased the Fox store.
115 Years Ago – Dec. 23, 1904
Best Christmas present — Ernest Leighton, who for the past three years has been employed at Perks Bros.’ drug store, received as his best Christmas present a certificate from the State Board of Pharmacy making him a registered pharmacist for the State of Maine.

Leased store — Hamilton & Webber, dealers in stoves and tinware, have leased the J.E. Burnham store which they will occupy after January 1.

Boston Dr. relocates here — Dr. Elmond A. Burnham, of Boston, well known to many of our citizens by reason of his frequent visits here, is so well pleased with our community and its citizens that he has decided to locate here permanently.

A public park — At the special town meeting held in town hall, this Friday forenoon, the public park enthusiasts gained a big victory. There were those there who opposed the idea but they were pitifully in the minority.
