Speakers discuss drugs, race

HOULTON, Maine — Camp Constitution will sponsor Dr. Punyamurtula Kishore and Rev. Steve Craft on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Tang’s Chinese Cuisine on 60 North St.

The topic is “The Drug Card and the Race Card: A Deadly Hand.” Kishore, an addiction specialist, will discuss the drug epidemic in Maine and offer solutions to treating addiction with other drugs.

Nelson returns to AMHC in Houlton

HOULTON, Maine — Aroostook Mental Health Center has welcomed Mark Nelson back to its Houlton Outpatient Substance Abuse Team.

Nelson will join Tracey Tarr in the delivery of substance abuse services out of AMHC’s Houlton office located at 11 Mill Street.

“Mark brings over 30 years of treatment experience with him and a long history of service in the Houlton area,” said Peter McCorison, program director for behavioral health services. “In the 1980s, Mark worked with individuals such as David Green, George School to increase access to service in the Houlton area.”
