Houlton Police Log Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 2016

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5.

 

Sunday, Oct. 30

1:25 a.m. — Officer Boutilier responded to Court Street where he arrested a 49-year-old Houlton man for aggravated assault.

All-Aroostook honorees announced

The Aroostook League has announced its All-Aroostook selections for the fall sports season and they are as follows:

 

Boys Class B/C soccer

Caribou: Austin Cheplic, Alex Ezzy and Andre Rossignol; Fort Kent: Micah Charette, Nathan Michaud and Niko Naranja; Houlton: Zach Fitzpatrick, Dylan Johnston and Jake Worthley; LCS/MSSM: Tobyn Blatt and Mathew Pelkey; and Presque Isle: Nick Bartlett, Pat Cash, Jake Kinney, Khasen Lowe and Josiah Morse.

Try hockey for free Saturday

HOULTON, Maine — The Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association is inviting all youths ages 10 and younger who are interested in trying hockey to a day of free hockey at the John Millar Civic Center.

SAMHA will provide skates, but participants must have their own helmet and gloves. Bicycle helmets can be acceptable. Participants should wear loose fitting sweatpants of snow pants.

Birch Point Bowling

The standings in the men’s bowling league at Birch Point Bowling Lanes as of Tuesday morning were: 1, Rough Riders, 20-4; 2, Intimidators, 18-6; 3, Gutterballs, 16-8; 4, Skinner Sandbaggers, 10-14; 5, Pinners, 6-18; and 6, Strike Force, 2-22.

Signups for third, fourth grade boys and girls Houlton AYBL

HOULTON, Maine — Boys or girls in grades 3 or 5 who are interested in playing travel basketball as part of the Aroostook Youth Basketball League are asked to contact league officials by Nov. 18. Parents or guardians should email league representatives with their child’s name, school they attend, grade, and physical address to houltonaybl@gmail.com.

Depending on the number of boys and girls who sign up and coaches who volunteer, tryouts may be necessary. The season runs from Nov. 19 until March 18.
