Schools to honor veterans

 

 

Veterans Day is Friday, Nov. 11, but several local schools will celebrate local vets a day early with special events.

At Southern Aroostook Community School in Dyer Brook, the public is encouraged and cordially invited to come to the Veterans Day Assembly on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. in the school’s gymnasium. A special ceremony will be held to honor local veterans and all veterans who have sacrificed to protect this country’s freedoms.

Veterans Cemetery plans Nov. 11 event

 CARIBOU, Maine — The Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Caribou will host a special Veterans Day ceremony Friday, Nov. 11, and invites the public to attend.

Firefighters group endorses Carpenter

HOULTON, Maine — Democratic Senate candidate Mike Carpenter of Houlton has received the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine (PFFM) for his support of firefighters and EMTs throughout the state.
