The “Wanted” poster tacked to the telephone pole on the back country road didn’t show a photo of an escaped convict or felon but rather a drawing of an apple. Wait. An apple?

The Oakfield Senior Citizens met at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club for their last meeting of October. The luncheon of barbecue hot dogs by Chef David Burpee and the many casseroles, side dishes and desserts were enjoyed by all.
The business was called to order by President Bob Locke and all the usual reports were read and accepted.

I had a reader request a couple of recipes using apples. While the wild ones weren’t as easy to find this year (for our family), the apple farms seemed to have done well. I found these. The apple crumble is a family favorite and the cheesecake is one I received from Nancy in Holden.
To be honest, I didn’t realize how many people, living out of our area, get the Pioneer Times. Definitely a great gift idea for those of us who have family out of town.
