It’s a quick turnaround for coach Logan McLaughlin’s Fort Fairfield Tigers. Following a dominating performance last night at home against the Washburn Beavers, Fort Fairfield is back to work tonight in an important contest against Easton, the fourth-place team in Class D North with a 7-5 record. When the two teams met in Fort Fairfield on Dec. 13, the Tigers snagged a hard-fought 49-45 victory.
The UMPI Owl men’s basketball team will try to get back to the .500 mark when they travel to Auburn to take on Central Maine Community College at 7:30 p.m. tonight. UMPI won the first matchup back in November at Wieden Gymnasium, 54-52.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Husson University sophomore guard Kenzie Worcester has been named to the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll, making it the first time this season an Eagle player has claimed this honor.
CARIBOU, Maine — For over a year, RSU 39 has been planning to place a new preK-8 school in Caribou, on a lot now occupied by Teague Park. The project, in total, would cost about $48 million, with $45 million coming from the State Department of Education.
CARIBOU — City Council recently authorized the replacement of Caribou Fire Department’s Engine No. 1 truck as well as their rescue vehicle with a single rescue pumper. In his statement to the city, Fire Chief Scott Susi estimated that the $585,000 rescue pumper will save the department money in the long run, as it would cost roughly $525,000 just to replace Engine No. 1.
