PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — All the Aroostook County varsity track and field teams gathered at the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a meet on the campus’s five-kilometer course.
Jon Bernard, Sara Edgecomb and Sadie Edgecomb have qualified for the state individual golf tournament, to be held at Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro Oct. 15.
On Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at 10 a.m., the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge 1954, will host its annual Soccer Shoot penalty kicking contest on the athletic field at the University of Maine at Presque Isle behind the Gentile Hall athletic complex.
Boosters club fundraiser
Lincoln Motor Company, along with Griffeth Lincoln, will donate $20 to the Caribou High School Athletic Boosters for every household which test drives a Lincoln vehicle during an event set for Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Caribou High School parking lot from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
People will also have a chance to test drive a bonus vehicle – a 2017 Lincoln MKZ – where Lincoln will donate an additional $20 per household.
CARIBOU, Maine — The Northern Maine Karting Association held its season finale Sept. 10 at Spud Speedway. An extra feature race was held to make up for an earlier rained out race. In addition, the season’s points champions were crowned and special awards were presented.

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s soccer team has added nine new faces to a list of talented returners who look to improve on a 3-13-1 record from a year ago. The Owls, under 26th-year head coach Alan Gordon, return their returning leading goal scorer and AD3I All-Independent honorable mention honoree, sophomore Cody Blair of Ashland, who netted seven goals in 2015. Derek Healy, a senior from Hanover, Mass., is back as a top scoring threat, having scored five goals and collecting five assists and garnering AD3I All-Independent second team recognition.
