$6M to fund major investments

AUGUSTA, Maine — A $6 million federal investment will help private forestland owners reduce the impacts of flooding on road networks and restore more than 250 miles of fish habitat in northern and eastern Maine, the partners in the Maine Aquatic Connectivity Restoration Project announced December 21, 2016.

Clark is Mûsterds Runner of the Year

The Aroostook Mûsterds awarded its 2016 Runner of the Year trophy to a first-timer in Bruce Clark of Houlton.
Clark ran in all eight of the 2016 County Challenge Series races, winning his 50-59 age group in all but one of them. Additionally, nominees pointed to Clark as being “quiet, dedicated, a major participant, and always supportive of others. He exemplifies what a Mûsterd is and does.”

Traffic lights at Main, State to be repaired

Since before the new year, the traffic lights at Main and State streets in downtown Presque Isle have been flashing yellow and red, respectively, adding another bit of complexity to the intersection along with the recent snowfall.
