Red Kettle campaign returns for Salvation Army By Joseph CyrStaff Writer AUGUSTA — The Salvation Army kicked off its annual Christmas Kettle Effort Nov. 9 when Governor Paul R. LePage brought greetings in a brief ceremony at the Statehouse in Augusta.
On Nov. 16, the Mapleton Lions Club was recognized by the Aroostook County Commissioners with the Spirit of America Award for outstanding community service and volunteerism.
