County’s income showed increase — Aroostook County farm families, in 1945, produced crops and livestocks with the record value of more than  $50,993,000, as reported by the Bureau of Census, more than doubling their annual gross income in comparison with 1940.

Brothers met after 10 years apart — After 10 years of separation, two brothers met during the weekend in Westfield. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, the boys’ last reunion was in Buffalo, New York, in 1936.

Frank Hussey re-elected — At the director’s meeting immediately following the annual meeting, Frank W. Hussey was re-elected president. This re-election was tribute to the capable and aggressive leadership that had been provided by Mr. Hussey as President over a period of 10 years.

Soil Conservation director — At a meeting of Soil Conservation District supervisors from 17 states held in Chicago on July 24th and 25th, Mr. Dennis Getchell of Limestone was selected to serve on the Board of Directors to represent the Northeastern Region of the United States.

Aucoin is Maine Maritime graduate — Among the 101 graduates of the Maine Maritime Academy at Castine, receiving Ensign’s commissions June 29, was Leonard L. Aucoin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luby Aucoin of 271 State St. of this city. Ensign Aucoin was born in Presque Isle and attended the local schools.
