Josh McLaughlin, owner of J. McLaughlin Construction who lives on Park Street, said that as a taxpayer and business owner who donates a lot of time and money to the community, the condition of the community seems to be going downhill rapidly and it is escalating out of control.
Many Fort Kent residents coming to vote at the town office on Tuesday morning showed strong support for Austin Theriault, a Fort Kent native who is running for the 2nd Congressional District seat.
The annual town meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 12 at Limestone Community School’s auditorium.
The City Council voted to hold two public hearings, one later this month and another at the regular July 10 city council meeting, on each issue.
Newly signed volunteers bring the department’s roster to 15 and it recently acquired two used firefighting vehicles.
Michelle Henderson, who last fall ran on a platform opposing LGBTQ+ programming in the schools, said that such programming only protects one class of children.
Limestone will hold its elections on Tuesday, June 11 in conjunction with the state primary election from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town office at 93 Main St.
Van Buren is gearing up for its annual town meeting on June 12, where residents can vote on the annual budget.
A public hearing on the Washburn police department is slated at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Washburn District High School so residents can weigh in.
