The coaster has crested the hill

Now for the bad (good) news (depending on your perspective). As you read this, our temperature curve has begun its inexorable descent toward winter. (Yes, it’s true!)
By the end of this month, Caribou’s average high is 71, but by the end of next month, September, it is 59, and by the end of October (Halloween!) the average high is down to 45.

The low-key nature of the event stood in stark contrast to the unprecedented horror and violence of the preceding years, years in which the fate of civilization itself hung in the balance.

Family Searcher: Enjoy your living family members

We held our family reunion last week, with a healthy mix of genealogy, fellowship and just plain fun. We tried to make sure everyone immediately signed in and got a nametag with their name and the sibling from whom they descended. We got almost no resistance to the health questions we asked at registration. My sister had created a beautiful and elegant beaded Christmas ornament, which was on display as a door prize for completed registration, and I know this helped, a lot!
