GNP named Pinkham Super of Personnel — Henry C. Conklin assumed the newly created position of personnel supervisor for the Pinkham Lumber Company, a division of Great Northern Paper Company. Conklin’s appointment was announced by J. R. Adams, GNP manager of personnel, northern division.

Processed potato’s success in Caribou — A local company is opening a new market for processed potatoes nationwide from Caribou. ‘Fresh From the Start’ potato products were developed by Andy Ayer of Maine Packers and Andy Pollak of Hapco Inc. of New York.

Rotarians pay tribute to Miss Knight — A glowing tribute was paid to Miss Edith Knight, county anti-tuberculosis nurse, by Dr. F. W. Mann, President of the Maine Medical Society, who addressed the Houlton Rotary Club at their Wednesday meeting.

Donations make dreams come true for 12 families — For six consecutive years, Aroostook County residents have given selflessly to the Make-A-Wish playhouse project, enabling the county chapter to go from raising $3,000 in 1993 to more than $20,000 this season, which enabled them to help 12 families this year.
