In a packed Easton High School gymnasium, 18 students graduated from Easton Jr/Sr High School on Friday, June 7.

Josh McLaughlin, owner of J. McLaughlin Construction who lives on Park Street, said that as a taxpayer and business owner who donates a lot of time and money to the community, the condition of the community seems to be going downhill rapidly and it is escalating out of control.

The class received more than $220,000 in scholarships from local groups and organizations as well as other foundations that support Maine students.
The warmth and affection the 31 graduates had for each other, their families, teachers and school leaders was evident even to strangers.
Despite the weather, most events went on as planned, including the Maine truck and tractor pulls.
School representatives, family and friends packed the school’s gym for the event, which featured “Pomp and Circumstance” by Wendy Grass on the piano and a musical selection from the Central Aroostook Rock Stars.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins gave the keynote address, reflecting on her Aroostook County roots as she encouraged the new graduates to take with them lessons learned from their own upbringing.
