Less than a year out from the next presidential election, I share the deep concerns of many Maine people regarding the possibility of malicious foreign interference in our nation’s elections.
Lead poisoning poses a severe threat to human health, especially to children and pregnant women.
Finding the maiden name of a female ancestor can be a challenge. Men’s names were recorded in town vital records but the wife was usually listed by her given name only.

On Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at 1 p.m., my granddaughter, Hadley, who is a brain cancer survivor, was crossing Academy Street from Canterbury Street to go cat-sit a neighbor’s cat. She lost her balance in the middle of Academy Street because of the ruts in the road. Hadley fell face-first with injuries to her face, knees and arms.
