It seems every year about this time I think of times long ago when our lack of technology and the slower pace of life seemed to draw us closer to the true Christmas spirit.

I have been receiving repeated calls from the National Police and Trooper Association, which is a division of the International Union of Police Associations.
Harrison H. Robinson was born on Aug. 11, 1840, at The Ledge, Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada, and came to the United States the next year. At the end of 1861, Harrison enlisted as a soldier in the Civil War, serving in the 15th Regiment Maine Infantry. He mustered out in 1866 having reached the rank of Sergeant.
Recently our Library Board of Trustees purchased the Griffiths House, an historic home located at 228 State St. It is situated beside our library and abuts the library property.
The holiday season is upon us, and for family historians and genealogists it can be a great time to find clues you may have missed in the Christmas rush each year. Many of us have forgotten things that can help us learn more about our families. Let’s examine some possibilities.
I think many of us may need to slow down, take a look around, and decide what’s really important. Is it the big gift? The big tree? Or maybe it’s the family that we surround ourselves with or the friends we have made our family. Enjoy the food, enjoy the friends and enjoy your family. Enjoy the Season.
I had another request for our liquid laundry detergent. Kathryn says she hasn’t used it yet, but was excited to try it. Have a good time with it, Kathryn. I also have another recipe for a non-toxic, yet successful cleaner.
A summer Saturday can be interesting. Does one know what a horse is? It’s easy to see a horse. It’s got two small ears, a tail, four legs and a round belly. It can be ridden or pull a sulky. And they can have opinions that do not suffer foolish types.

Anyone who attended Caribou’s Hometown Heroes gala on Nov. 10 surely was in awe of the ladies and gentlemen who were honored for their accomplishments in their community. Each had a hands-on contribution to making our city a better and safer place to live, to work and to grow.
