Contending with the recent miserable, bitter cold weather, I got thinking about some of my favorite things.
With the cold weather and The County picking up anywhere from 3-8 inches of fresh snow on Monday the clubs are doing a tremendous job on keeping the trails in very good condition.
When a safe layer of ice allows, ”hard water” anglers can fish for smelt.
Reports from clubs are that the fields in places are still a little thin but every flake is helping. Reminder that it is highly recommended that you do stay on the marked trails.

While minimal snow cover is a detriment to skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, at least some days and most nights offer frigid ice-forming temperatures so local lakes and ponds are freezing to support ice fishing.
