This crazy dog lady is back with a new story. I know, that’s all I seem to write about is dogs, dogs, dogs. What can I say? Small dogs, big dogs, all dogs — I love them all. I love all animals but dogs are my favorite. I have been a dog lover since I was a kid. There is nothing like being loved by a dog and them loving you back.
As we reflect on our Thanksgiving celebrations, all of us at the Central Aroostook Humane Society couldn’t be more thankful for the many supporters that we have, who do so much for the animals and our organization.
The snow and the cold weather has arrived. If we listen to everyone it is going to be a difficult winter.
Everyone who enjoys the company of a dog knows that sometimes dogs have strange behaviors. They may arrive in your life with the behaviors already in place, or perhaps they are adopted as a puppy and develop a behavior young.
Happy fall to you all. It has been a super beautiful one so far. The harvest has gone well and the temperatures have remained warm, so enjoy these rare days because before long we will be into the winter months, and we all know what that means.

What a beautiful fall we are having. We hope you and your furry friends have been able to go on long walks enjoying all these “bonus days.”
Even though the pandemic has put an unexpected cramp in most of our lives, we are all starting to get a glimpse of our past “normal” life reappearing. There will definitely be the usual ghosts, goblins and superheroes out on the prowl on Halloween night.
Spay/neuter seems like a simple concept right? Spaying and neutering cuts down on the number of unwanted pets that in many cases end up at shelters or even worse are left to fend for themselves out in the elements.
We are now into the hunting season, whether it is with guns or bows, hunting for birds, bear, rabbits, deer or any wild animal.
Over the months we have seen so many pets that are missing and lost. We are grateful that our Facebook page is a wonderful tool for getting the word out about these pets that have wandered off.
