Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of April 13, 2022

On Wednesday night, a black and white cat was picked up in the middle of the road by a very kind gentleman. The cat was brought to the Ark and then taken to the vet where it spent the night and most of the next day.

A groomer’s story

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of March 23, 2022

Steve has had very long and stressful days. Saturday he wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t eat. He had diarrhea and started peeing blood. He was rushed to Veazie for emergency vet care with a temperature of 103.9 degrees. He had x-rays taken and an ultrasound.

Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of March 16, 2022

Clara is a cat that came to the Ark Animal Sanctuary last summer. She was living in a feral cat colony here in town, but it is not clear how Clara ended up there because she was a very friendly cat.

Charlie’s story

On Dec. 7, 2017, 19 dogs were seized by Animal Welfare. Charlie, his sister and six other dogs were brought to Houlton Humane Society. The remaining dogs from the state seizure were placed in shelters around Maine. Unfortunately, none had a good start.
