BANGOR, Maine — An Easton man on Wednesday admitted in federal court that earlier this year he downloaded child pornography.
Zane Wetzel, 31, entered a guilty plea before U.S. District Judge John Woodcock to possession of child pornography, a crime that carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, up to a $250,000 fine or both.

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from Dec. 22-31.
Thursday, Dec. 22
8:27 a.m. — Off. Bickford responded to First Street for a welfare check.
CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou police responded to a 6:40 p.m. call on New Year’s Day regarding a stolen car, and another 8:20 p.m. call about a stolen snowsled, subsequently finding that one individual was responsible for both incidents.

MERRIMAC, MA — A defective license plate light landed an Aroostook man in jail Dec. 19 after state police found almost a half kilo of heroin in his backpack, according to court records.
CARIBOU, Maine — The Aroostook County grand jury handed down indictments against 25 individuals Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 and the majority of them once again were for crimes related to the possession, sale or manufacturing of drugs.
