HOULTON — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 133 calls for service during the week of Dec. 12-Dec. 18, including 47 involving crashes and cars off the road during the recent storms.

Garage fire nets arrest

HOULTON, Maine — A 33-year-old Houlton man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police and fire officials were called to a residence on the Currier Road for a structure fire.

Dawg owner speaks out about robbery

HOULTON, Maine — Thirsty Dawg owner Kent Good said Monday afternoon that in his eight years of business in Houlton he has never felt as threatened as he did Friday when his shop was held up by an armed robber.

Two to return to Maine for trial

HOULTON, Maine — Two Massachusetts men who were indicted last month in Aroostook County on murder charges in connection with the death of an Oakfield man have waived extradition and will be returned to Maine soon, a spokesman for the attorney general’s office said Friday.

Three residents of Massachusetts — Marcus Asante, 21, of Fitchburg, Darin Goulding, 27, of Leominster, and Tia Leigh Ludwick, 24, of Fitchburg — were each indicted by the Aroostook County grand jury on Nov. 10 on charges of murder and robbery in connection with the death of Douglas Morin Jr., 31, whose body was found on Oct. 16 in a vehicle on PD Road in Sherman.

1:52 a.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to North Street to investigate suspicious activity.

2:22 a.m. — Off. McGuire responded to Mill Street for a civil dispute.

     HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 129 calls for service during the week of Dec. 5-Dec. 11:

     – Sunday, December 4- Tr. Adams stopped a vehicle on I-95 around mile marker 277 south near Island Falls for speeding and discovered the operator of the vehicle had a suspended license. The operator was charged with operating after suspension and the vehicle was towed to Bangor.Tuesday, December 6- Sgt. Clark and Tr. Desrosier responded to an address in Cyr Plantation for a family fight. During the investigation it was determined that the fight was verbal between a brother and sister. The woman causing the disturbance was intoxicated and had an active warrant for unpaid fines. She was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail.
