WASHBURN, Maine — A 31-year-old Washburn man has been accused of breaking into two homes in the town and stealing a rifle, among other things.

HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from Nov. 27-Dec. 3.
Sunday, Nov. 27
1:52 a.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Military Street to assist a citizen.
11:05 a.m. — Off. York responded to Military Street to investigate a complaint.

Monday, November 28
– State Police responded to a crash on U.S. Route 1 in Grand Isle. An individual reported that a minivan had been struck by a tractor trailer, and the operator was currently trapped inside the vehicle. Trooper Curtin responded to the scene.
Anthony Lord was scheduled to plead guilty Monday at the Penobscot Judicial Center to charges related to an alleged two-county rampage last year that left two people dead.

BANGOR, Maine — Anthony Lord was scheduled to plead guilty Monday at the Penobscot Judicial Center to charges related to an alleged two-county rampage last year that left two people dead.
Instead, his attorneys, Hunter Tzovarras and Logan Perkins, both of Bangor, withdrew from the case, citing a breakdown in the attorney/client relationship. Superior Court Justice Ann Murray said she would appoint Jeffrey Toothaker of Ellsworth and David Bate of Bangor to represent Lord. Toothaker confirmed that he would take on the case with Bate.
