PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine State Police say they have charged a Virginia tractor trailer driver after he drove several miles along the Maine Turnpike Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 in the wrong lane.
A man from Turkey who was found crossing the U.S.-Canadian border in May has been sentenced to 3-and-half months in prison and a $2,000 fine, and will likely face deportation.
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — An 80-year-old Easton man has died after a crash in Presque Isle over the Labor Day weekend, according to an officer with the Presque Isle Police Department.

Sunday, Sept. 4
12:49 a.m. — Officer Janakis responded to South Street to assist another agency.
2:22 p.m. — Officer York responded to Holland Street for an animal complaint.

Davis to be tried out of county
HOULTON, Maine — A trial scheduled to start next week of a man accused of killing two Oakfield residents in 2013 has been postponed and will have to be moved out of Aroostook County.
While more than 100 potential jurors from across The County were called to Houlton Superior Court on Thursday, Justice E. Allen Hunter granted a change of venue for the trial after it became apparent that a jury could not be seated.
