By Jen Lynds Staff Writer Twenty-one people were recently indicted by the Aroostook County grand jury, which completed it second session of the year on Feb. 5, according District Attorney Todd Collins. Among those indicted were:
CARIBOU — The following cases were heard at the Aroostook County Superior Court during the month of January. Leigh Albert, 41, Mapleton: criminal conspiracy, $400 fine, nine months in jail, all suspended and one year probation. Lyle E. Bernier, 24, Eagle Lake: probation violation, 16 months in prison and probation revoked.
FORT KENT, Maine — Approximately five years ago, police in Aroostook County realized that they had a huge problem with businesses in the region selling alcohol to minors.
SHERMAN — A Stacyville man wanted for failing to appear in court was arrested last week on additional charges of drug possession and felony trafficking in prison contraband, according to police.
