FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Noah Bernard has fond memories of his high school days as a golfer for the Fort Fairfield Tigers, especially with the success the team experienced.
On Saturday, the Ryan Wright Memorial Scramble was held. Porter Gervais and Josh McGuire finished first. Second place was Ben Lynds and Jim Quirk. Third place was Ben and Kody Tuttle. Even though there was some rain during play, everyone had a great time.
The Houlton Elks Lodge No. 835 will host its annual fall Soccer Shootout on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m.
After a drought to start the season, the Caribou girls varsity soccer team picked up their first win with a 3-1 victory versus Mount Desert Island at home Saturday afternoon.
The Presque Isle golf team gets to host this year’s Penobscot Valley Conference tournament on Sept. 25, and a top-three showing in that event will put the Wildcats into the Class B states at Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro in October.
The Pine & Spurs Riding Club held its August show the weekend of Aug. 21 and 22 in Presque Isle.
It is starting to feel like fall out there, but I’m still hoping for some warm summer days in the next few weeks! Over Labor day weekend we held the Babe Caron Memorial Tournament. On Friday night the one-club challenge was played and the winners were Kevin and Ben Tuttle.
Soccer squads have remained busy in recent games, but reschedules have been the biggest news.
Soccer balls will once again be flying as the Presque Isle Elks Lodge No. 1954 hosts its annual Soccer Shoot kicking contest.
