New bridge open to all traffic — Officials from both sides of the Maine/New Brunswick border attended the official opening of the $13.9 million Clair-Fort Kent International Bridge today, Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Wednesday’s hearing at the town office began with an introduction from the County Commissioners followed by a recess to tour the Grivois Road.

Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. and its consortium members conducted a community needs assessment focused on substance use in Aroostook County earlier this year. The assessment was funded by a Health Resources Services Administration Rural Community Opioid Response Planning Implementation III grant, which aims to reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder.
The festival will begin on Thursday, August 8 with local restaurants hosting poutine eating contests at 1 p.m. and music at the Bi-Centennial Park from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Maine Community Foundation recently welcomed four new members to its board of directors. They will begin their first term in September.
