Outstanding students earn Service Academy nominations

Each year, some of Maine’s most exceptional students are chosen to attend one of the United States military service academies. One of my greatest honors as a United States Senator is having the opportunity to nominate to the academies these exceptional students, many of whom will be our nation’s future military leaders.

Fishing gets better as ice gets thicker

For folks who enjoy warm weather, less snow and reduced heating oil bills, it’s been a dandy winter. The unusually mild conditions have been a welcome respite for wild game animals, especially our dwindling deer herd, but dangerous for area anglers who ventured onto thin ice and took a late season swim.

AG, lawmakers, prove companies breaking Maine logging laws

Sen. Troy Jackson, (D-Aroostook County), and Rep. John L. Martin, ( D-Eagle Lake), are expressing satisfaction of a recent judgment by Aroostook County Superior Court Justice Honorable E. Allen Hunter regarding a final consent decree and order against three Canadian logging companies, listing their place of business as Fort Kent, who admitted to violating Maine law for failing to show ownership of equipment.
