PRESQUE ISLE – The University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s soccer team defeated the University of Maine at Machias on Senior Day on October 28, 4-0. The Owls out shot their opponents 19-0. Matt Petrie (Old Town) opened up scoring by netting a goal off a long direct kick by David Rudolph (Sullivan) at 9:15 into the contest.

Corey Harding (Plymouth) put the Owls up 2-0 with just minutes remaining in the first half. Joe Pinault (Kezar Falls) scored the first goal of the second half off a Devon Peaslee (Woolwich) assist and Petrie again saw the back of the net at 64:12 to solidify the UMPI win.
UMPI’s seven seniors have contributed greatly to the Owls’ success over the last four years. With their hard work and dedication, they have helped to both build up the soccer program and bring it success during their time at Presque Isle. UMPI seniors are: Petrie, Jared Griffith (New Glasglow, NS) and Chuck Reece (Phippsburg) in midfield; Chase Higgins (Presque Isle), David Rudolph (Sullivan) and Scott Clenchy (Herberts, SK) on defense and Robert Allan (Wallace, NS) in offense.
