To the editor:
I would like to respond to Wilfred Martin’s letter to the editor of March 12 where he referenced “The Rubber Stamp Five.” This is a new experience for me. Sure I have never been asked to join any group of five or knowingly been placed in such a group. If, however, I was to become a member of a newly formed group of five, I would like to have some impact as to the group’s name. How about the “Common Sense Group of Five” or the “Let’s use Facts and Logic to Make Decisions Group of Five” or the “I will accept the Will of the Majority Group of Five”?
In closing, if I were a rubber stamp kind of person, the City Charter would not have been expanded and I would not be a member of the Caribou City Council.
