Meeting of the milkmen — At a meeting of the milkmen held Monday at the office of F.A. Peabody at 7:30 p.m., the price milk was deliberately discussed. Whereupon the milkmen of Houlton resolved that they could not afford to swap money and throw in the wear and tear of their own anatomy free gratis.

Therefore, they have voted to continue the present prices for milk through the summer season if they continue to sell.
ImageTRAIN STATION — Mary Nason of Hodgdon shared this undated photo of the Houlton’s former Bangor & Aroostook Railroad station.

Dismantling memories — The Putnam gym, located at the site of the former Ricker College, is being dismantled this week. The building, erected in 1947, was purchased by Central Equipment Co. soon after they bought the classroom building which has already been converted into an apartment building for the elderly and handicapped.
The gymnasium was originally a government surplus hangar located in the Carolinas that was purchased, dismantled and reassembled here.
