Expansion, renovations in the making

HOULTON –   Success is a big word for a big project.
“The outstanding generosity of our donors who believe in what we do allowed the Foundation in the Fall of 2007 to present Houlton Regional Hospital a check in the amount of $302,000 for state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine Equipment,” said Elizabeth Dulin, Foundation executive director. “The success and extraordinary achievement of Phase I for the Nuclear Medicine Project continues the Foundation’s mission of ‘Excellence in Healthcare’ to all those we serve.”
Phase II of the campaign involves the expansion/renovation of the current Radiology Department to address critical privacy/comfort issues, and when the project is completed we will once again be able to use the word success in a truly big way.
‘The ‘future is now’ and we must diligently plan ‘today’ for that future. It is imperative our healthcare providers have state-of-the-art technology, healthcare projects/programs and overall educational support for our community’s healthcare options. Delivering quality healthcare is an aggressive goal that constantly challenges us,” said Dulin.
The Foundation assists non-profit healthcare providers in southern Aroostook, northern Washington, and northern Penobscot counties. Not only our hospital and other healthcare providers benefit from our assistance, but schools, ambulance services, fire departments, as well.
The strength of the Foundation comes from enormous donor generosity that is reflected in the equipment, projects/programs, educational information noted above and scholarships, available to our healthcare consumers.
‘The support we receive absolutely improves the quality of healthcare for our area, and we can never emphasis enough how very grateful we are,” Dulin said.
