CARIBOU – Gregory D. Violette, 36, died unexpectedly, November 11, 2008 at Massachusetts. He was born at Presque Isle, February 12, 1972, the son of Wayne and Laura (Getchell) Violette. He was a graduate of the Caribou High School Class of 1990 and also was a graduate of Wyoming Technical Institute. Greg was employed as an auto body and finishing technician and had a special talent for refurbishing and restoring antique automobiles. Greg was a happy person, with a smile on his face and who always put the needs and concerns of others ahead of his own. Greg loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time with his family camping.
He is survived by his mother Laura of Caribou, his father of Madawaska Lake, his sister and brother-in-law Amy and Mark Desmond, his niece Amanda Desmond and his nephew Jacob Desmond all of Beverly, MA, several aunts and uncles including Judy and Bob Corey and Galen and Paulette Violette, and several cousins. Greg was predeceased by his grandparents Guy and Violet Violette and Perry and Eleanor Getchell, and two uncles David and Stephen Getchell.
Friends visited with the family 4-6 p.m. Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou where evening prayer services were held at 6 p.m. with Very Rev.
