Island Falls man, third sled fatality

    Raymond Webb, 53, a longtime resident of Island Falls died early Monday morning from injuries due to a snowmobile accident along the west branch of the Mattawamkeag River near Island Falls.
     Deborah Turcotte, spokeswoman for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said that Webb had been riding with friends earlier in the evening, but was alone at the time of the accident. It appeared that he struck an overhanging tree limb, while riding his snowmobile south on an access trail.
    Webb was found by one of the members of the group who came across the accident scene just before midnight.
    Webb was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
